SERVING THE DRYCLEANING INDUSTRY FOR OVER 60 YEARS

Steve Pedelty Retires from M&B Hangers

Steve Pedelty started his “hanger” career with Cleaners Hanger Company (CHC) in 1982, covering the Southeast US. After six years of living in Charlotte, NC but mainly traveling south, CHC asked him to move to Atlanta, so he and his family; his wife Patti and their three children, Susan, Laura Beth, and Matt moved from their home in Charlotte to Atlanta.

Although Steve was a competitor of M&B’s, he was respected, as well as a friend to all. “He did things the right way, he developed lasting relationships that made people want to do business with him” stated M&B.

He continued traveling and building those key relations ships for the next 20 years. When the hanger industry was decimated by unfairly traded hangers from China, Cleaners Hanger, who was the largest producer of wire hangers in the world, was forced to close in 2003. At that time, Pedelty was Vice President of Sales. He then found a home with Nagel Hanger Company for a short while, and ultimately United Wire Hanger until they stopped soliciting business in the Southeast.

After United Wire, M&B was fortunate to be Pedelty’s last stop in his hanger employment. Pedelty has been with M&B for 19 years, and always did business the old fashion way, by developing and nurturing relationships.

In 2015, after a 20+ year battle will cancer, Steve’s wife, Patty, lost her battle. Anyone that knows Steve, know that he was by her side, fighting the battle with her. After a couple of years of loneliness, Pedelty met his current wife, Janet, and they were married on December 29, 2018, and are a very happy loving couple today, and as Steve puts it, forever.

After many long years of selling hangers, Steve will finally “hang it up” the end of 2024. Since many of Steve’s friends are in the industry, please be sure and wish him and Janet happiness in the next chapter of their lives. Steve’s email address is [email protected] if you would like to reach out to him.

M&B said in a statement, “Steve, thanks for all you did for M&B. We are a better company because you joined our team.”
